The LeBron 18 features a split design, with the heel/rear representing armor and strength with a beefy Max Air unit and reinforcement for stability, while the front represents speed and agility. The shoe features a first-of-its-kind combined Max Air and full-length Zoom Air unit for supreme comfort and responsiveness on-court. LeBron models have generally been grounds for Nike to try out all-knew knit uppers, and the 18 seems to be no different: the shoe uses “raised dimensions from the 15’s Battleknit, the high-tenacity yarns from the 16 and the TPU yarns that composed the 17’s exoskeleton.” Finally, the LeBron 18 features an all-new style of cosmetic Air in the shoe’s tongue and improved traction on the outsole.
